Make a positive difference and enrich your own life.

Volunteering at Lutheran Life Villages is an incredible way to give back to your community while enriching the lives of seniors. As a volunteer, you have the chance to brighten someone’s day with a smile or a conversation. You can also offer your unique skills and hobbies to enrich their experiences and create unforgettable memories. From music and art to gardening and games, there are endless ways to engage with our wonderful residents.

Share your faith through service.

Service is a key aspect of the Christian faith. Not only does it enable us to express our beliefs, but it also serves as a positive influence on our children and grandchildren. By giving back, we learn valuable life lessons that are only acquired through serving.

Good for them. Good for you.

Through volunteering, not only are you making a difference in the lives of others, but you are also strengthening your own life and personal growth. Research has shown that volunteering has numerous benefits, including reducing stress, increasing social connections, and enhancing empathy. By devoting your time and energy to seniors, you are spreading kindness and making an invaluable contribution to your community.

Put your talents to good use.

Depending on your individual or group’s skill set and interests, we offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities to choose from. Whether it’s joining our residents on an outing to the zoo, helping celebrate the holidays, or helping with our mailing, we invite you to find a volunteer opportunity that’s right for you. Here are a few ways our volunteers participate at LLV.

Activities — Assist during recreational activities like games, outdoor experiences, and the arts.

Dining room greeter — Greet and seat guests and serve beverages during lunch and dinner hours.

Mailings — Help with mailing projects for our independent  living community.

Making each campus more beautiful — Give us a hand maintaining flower beds or assist with yard work, trash pickup, and recycling.

Pastoral care — Whether you’re a talented musician, a pastor, or someone who just loves people, we have a spot for you.

Resident companion services — Perform non-medical services such as responding to call lights; bringing water, washcloths, or personal items; and greeting and escorting residents.

Wheelchair escorts — Escort our residents by pushing wheelchairs to outdoor activities, chapel services, the hair salon and spa, the Emporium, or other locations as needed.
