Long known for culture of faith-based servant leadership, Lutheran Life Villages raises base wage to $15/hr.

Fort Wayne, February 23, 2022- Lutheran Life Villages has committed to a large scale workforce retention effort, adjusting wages to a base rate of no less than $15/hour for all regular positions.

"Talent is our most valuable resource," CEO Alex Kiefer said in a statement. "We have received wonderful support and we are grateful to be blessed with the organizational resources to invest in our staff for today and the future."

Kiefer went on to say that "We have demonstrated what resilience looks like in an organization that has kept our mission, vision, and values at the forefront of everything we do through the most challenging times."

Over 420 staff positions have benefited directly from this investment.

Julie Harrison, Dining Services Assistant at The Village at Pine Valley, said that the move “…changed my whole outlook on looking for any other job. Between the wage increase and all the other benefits there’s no way any other organization can compete." However, she says it's not all about the bottom line. "...my coworkers are amazing. We’re always laughing and having a good time with the residents. The money is great, but the people make it even better”
