Job Qualifications

A. Education/Training/Licensure

  1. Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  2. Currently licensed with the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.

B. Experience

  1. Supervisory long term care nursing experience is desirable.
  2. Must be able to:
    • Suggest changes for improvements in resident care
    • Set priorities and organize assigned unit work flow.
    • Make decisions necessary to maintain efficient assigned unit functioning.
    • Communicate effectively and maintain good working relations with personnel in all facility departments, other health-related individuals, and community agency personnel.

C. Other

  1. Keep abreast of new trends in nursing and dementia care by reading current journals and publications of the long term care industry.
  2. Attend professional meetings, workshops, and conferences on dementia and long term care industry issues, as approved or requested by the supervisor.
