Dean “Cutter” Cutshall has done a lot in his life. He served in the Navy. He sold airplanes. He became a successful banker. But more than anything, Dean has flown. Since learning to fly in 1960, he has been a flight instructor, and a chief pilot for a major air carrier.

Mary | Quilter

Throughout her 104 years of life, Mary has found joy in many activities, but her first love will always be quilting.

John & Cindy live their lives over easy.

This entrepreneurial couple turned a rundown downtown diner into Cindy’s Diner, one of Fort Wayne’s favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. They saw a lot of the visionary thinking they put into their own business reflected in Lutheran Life Villages’ Piper Trail. When they retired, they knew they had found the perfect place.

Rich lives his life at the net.

For more than 15 years, Rich has played and coached the sport he loves. When he’s not on the court teaching the next generation of pickleball players, he enjoys the easy-going lifestyle that Piper Trail provides.

Louise lives her life on the fairway.

When Louise received her first set of golf clubs from her husband, she was only 30. Today, she is an avid golfer with a solid 20 handicap. Her daily life at Lutheran Life Villages makes plenty of room for two 18-hole golf leagues, as well as friends and family.

Ruth lives her life stepping to the beat.

Ruth and her 13 tap dance partners entertain audiences at local nursing homes, parties, festivals, etc., performing up to three shows every month. The busy schedule of rehearsals and shows keep Ruth active – she has no time to be bored.

Lorene lives her life sewing acts of kindness.

As a long-time volunteer, Lorene Bouman always helped make life at Lutheran Life Villages a little better. As a 4-year resident, she has become the community seamstress, mending garments for her friends and neighbors.
