The Nursing Staff Scheduler provides support to the nursing department; compiles and maintains records; and assists with other duties for the nursing department. This position is responsible for scheduling nursing employees and is accountable for the nursing department timekeeping report and daily budget utilization of staff. The Nursing Staff Scheduler coordinates the staffing needs to support the daily patient care for each unit. This is accomplished by supervising unit employees and by providing direct care to residents as required.
a) Coursework in secretarial science through a high school or community college.
b) Clinical license preferred.
a) Two (2) year minimum experience in office/clerical setting.
b) Prior scheduling experience within a healthcare institution preferred.
c) Intermediate computer skill level with experience in using various systems.
3. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
a) Ability to work on-call hours; any shift, any time as required.
b) Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
c) Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
d) Ability to work with minimal supervision.
