Job Duties

The Controller position is responsible for working closely with the CFO to support the financial responsibilities of the organization. The controller is responsible for completing transactions for the general ledger monthly close, the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The controller also completes regulatory filings required periodically throughout the year. The controller will adhere to deadlines and complete tasks with a high degree of detail and accuracy.

Essential Job Functions

Job Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  2. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance, a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation.
  3. Current understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, nursing home and continuing care retirement communities regulations, Internal Revenue Codes, ERISA, and other Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

  1. A minimum of five years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in health care and non-profit organizations.
  2. A minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.

  1. Demonstrated advanced competence with Microsoft Excel and an Enterprise level general ledger application (preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
  2. Capable of providing cost-benefit analysis, ad-hoc financial data analysis and financial data mining across multiple financial software platforms.
  3. Capacity to operate in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
  4. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
